TimeShift Function for Live Events and Streams in Cosmo|PlayOUT

We proud to announce, that we added a new feature TimeShift for live broadcasts to our Cosmo|PlayOUT solution. Cosmo|PlayOUT service is used for quick launch of TV channels and effectively plan and fill the broadcast in integration with the recording service Web Rec. 

TimeShift adds the possibilities of time delay of the live broadcast. This function helps to fullfill quite common needs of the media and content creators. Such requirement arise in case of displacement of planned events due to various circumstances, for example, air raid alert, due to which the event no longer falls into "its" time slot on the TV channel, and another time slot may be ready in some time, after the completion of the planned content. 

TV channels that steam from studios or make any other live events may need to control the broadcast and be able to delay the output or replace part of the broadcast. For this purpose, the broadcast is usually delayed for several minutes (online censorship). The time shift of the broadcast can be used when there is a requirement to add an advertisement or other video to the broadcast, while not blocking a part of the event, but continuing the show from the moment it was stopped.

The main advantages of TimeShift in Cosmo|PlayOUT and Web Rec are:

- The ability to easily add delayed broadcast to Cosmo|PlayOUT.

- The flexibility of changing the delay time: the ability to adjust the delay of broadcasts from a few seconds to tens of hours, according to the user's needs.

- Interrupting and resuming the broadcast: the possibility to interrupt already shifted broadcasts with other content, and then continue the broadcast from the moment of its interruption.

- The ability to broadcast the streams that have not yet ended (previously, the Web Rec service allowed the use of recorded programs in Cosmo|Playout upon their completion).
