Over 45,000 attendees from 170 countries gathered at IBC 2024 to explore innovations and discuss new trends. More than 1,350 exhibitors from the global media, entertainment, and technology communities showcased the latest industry developments.
IBC 2024 vs IBC 2023
This year’s exhibition saw about 2,000 more visitors and 100 additional exhibitors compared to last year. The exhibition space also expanded.
Cosmonova Broadcast attracted significantly more visitors to its booth compared to the previous year. Consequently, the number of unplanned meetings increased. We successfully handled the workload; however, we have already reserved more space for our booth next year.
The Main Trends
The primary focus of IBC 2024 participants was the rapid development of AI, which is finding applications in nearly all areas - from content creation to ensuring its secure storage and automating technical processes. Special attention was given to the issue of misinformation and fake news. Ironically, while AI is often used for their creation, the latest AI-based developments offer equally effective ways to combat them.
Another key aspect of the AI discussions was its legislative regulation. Participants reaffirmed its critical need. However, opinions diverged sharply regarding the AI-generated content labeling. We are awaiting final decisions on this matter.
Our interest in AI focused on its potential to mimic human activity, translate content using characters’ voices in real-time, and assist operators in working with content - new features that we are working to integrate into our services.
Other central topics of 2024 included sustainable development, 5G, cloud technologies, esports, OTT and streaming, adtech, and AI. The metaverse was also presented as an effective marketing tool, significantly expanding the opportunities for creators.
Prior to IBC 2024, Cosmonova Broadcast’s CEO, Taras Kozachuk, announced our innovative solutions which later were presented at the exhibition, in the article. Those who read the article already understand that our services are aligned with the mainstream trends of the year.
Our concept of an All Services Platform provides clients with comprehensive access to managing media resources, offering a wide range of tools from storage, and formation to adaptation, delivery, and content monetization.
We have achieved high functionality in our services by automating system processes. The user-friendly, multilingual interface and mobile applications, which allow users to manage media from any device anywhere in the world with internet access, ensure a high level of usability.
It is impossible to overestimate the importance of such infrastructure for streaming, content management, and signal delivery to end-users across dozens and even hundreds of platforms with varying technical requirements. This significantly simplifies interactions between all participants of the platform (content rights holders, content receivers, ad agencies, etc.) on both operational and strategic levels.
Cloud technologies are an integral part of our infrastructure. Our own data center in Ukraine and four clusters of cloud services in the European Union provide backup storage of content. In combination with other resources, they guarantee our clients an SLA of 99.97%.
IBC 2024. Conclusions
Global integration and automation, which we identified as our strategic priority at the beginning of the year, resonate with the latest industry trends. We are now approaching the end of this journey, but technologies are developing rapidly, and it is essential to continuously implement innovations to remain at the forefront.
We have many competitors in the global market. However, the flexibility of our hardware and software solutions allows us to offer clients personalized services that meet their unique needs, distinguishing us from other service providers and positioning us in a niche where we currently have no equal.
