How can infrastructure remain resilient and service quality keep pace as TV viewing habits change? These questions connected the telecom and media discussions at Telecom Ukraine 2026.
Network resilience was examined through practical measures: decentralisation, redundancy, alternative routes and geographically distributed infrastructure. Energy autonomy, cybersecurity, CGNAT and European integration were also on the agenda.
The fixed broadband discussions highlighted the scale of Ukraine’s market. According to data presented at the conference, more than 2,000 active internet service providers operate in the country, while xPON networks reach around 58% of households.
OTT continues to gain ground as a way of accessing television content. The figures presented showed its share rising from 32.9% in 2024 to 35.9% in 2025. In cities with populations of 50,000 or more, half of TV households now fall within the OTT/IPTV segment.
As audiences move towards IP-based viewing, service quality, competition for viewers and anti-piracy are becoming increasingly important.
For us, these discussions are closely connected: OTT/IPTV growth places greater demands on video delivery, while resilient infrastructure helps maintain the viewing experience. Telecom Ukraine 2026 offered an opportunity to assess the industry’s technical priorities alongside changing audience behaviour and market needs.
