֎Cosmonova Broadcast Platform Architecture

Juniper QFX10002  switches and MX routers are used in the core for aggregation. The main switches are built on 100G interfaces. All server infrastructure is built on IBM servers, services are virtualized, which allows you to quickly scale the load. Both KVM and Docker virtualization are used.

Fault tolerance is provided by redundancy according to a special algorithm, power of channels and resources:

• ֎ All elements of the network and server infrastructure are redundant and physically located in different segments of the data center.
• ֎ The data center itself has 2 independent cable entries to different streets, which makes it possible to build optical communication lines to the main points of exchange of different routes. There are 2 electrical inputs from different substations, 2 generators and 2 modular uninterruptible power systems.
• ֎ All servers supporting the operation of COSMO | PlayOut and other services are centralized and collected in a single architecture, which guarantees the ability to quickly scale, respond, and maintain.
• ֎ A system of round-the-clock automated monitoring of both equipment and services has been built. For a prompt response, support is deployed 24/7 from 3 response lines: the first service, the second with the involvement of R&D and the third with the involvement of the IT team.
• Quality and Speed ​​are ensured by modern protocols and equipment, infrastructure capacity, as well as by the fact that all servers and paths are on optics, including satellite ones:

֎ Updated satellite field, transferred to optical receiving equipment with a wide range of possible satellites for receiving, both fixed and rotary antennas. This will allow us to have a more stable signal in bad weather conditions, and we can quickly respond to the reception needs for providers and TV channels.

֎ Provides the highest broadcast quality on IP delivery technologies due to the effective use of modern protocols in combination with special settings of hardware and software solutions.

֎ The power of the channels has been strengthened to ensure high-quality service at moments of high simultaneous load (Eurovision, Football matches, Sports and other events).
